Mr. G.K. Satish, Chairman
Mr. Govind Kottieth Satish is the Director (Planning & Business Development) of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IndianOil), India’s flagship National Oil Company and one of the top Indian Corporates in the prestigious Fortune ‘Global 500’ listing of world’s largest companies.
As the Director (Planning & Business Development), Mr. Satish is in charge of IndianOil’s Petrochemicals, Natural Gas, Exploration & Production, Alternate Energy & Sustainable Development, International Business and Explosives verticals, besides Corporate Planning.
A Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Surat, and a Post-Graduate in Management from the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, Mr. Satish has over 37 years’ experience in IndianOil in the areas of Marketing, Operations, Logistics, International Trade, Natural Gas, Petrochemicals, Exploration & Production, Alternate Energy and Human Resources.
Mr. Satish is non-executive Chairman of IndianOil-Adani Gas Pvt. Ltd., which is engaged in City Gas Distribution (CGD) business in 19 Geographical Areas (GAs); IndianOil Total Pvt. Ltd., which is engaged in Bitumen Derivatives business and IOT Biogas Pvt. Ltd., which is engaged in biofuels business. Besides, he is a Director on the Board of IndOil Montney Ltd., Canada, which is handling IndianOil’s upstream business in Canada.
Mr. Satish had earlier been the non-executive Chairman of IndianOil LNG Pvt. Ltd., which is operating an LNG Import Terminal near Chennai, besides having being IndianOil’s nominee Director on the Boards of Petronet LNG Ltd., which operates the LNG Import Terminals at Kochi & Dahej, and GSPL India Gasnet Ltd. & GSPL India Transco Ltd., which are implementing cross-country natural gas pipelines in India.
Mr. Sanzeev Medhi, Managing Director
Mr. Sanzeev Medhi has been appointed as Managing Director on the Board of Green Gas Limited (GGL) with effect from March 28, 2019.
Mr. Medhi graduated in Bachelor of Electricals (BE) from Delhi College of Engineering, is having rich experience with in-depth knowledge in hydrocarbon sector across its value chain. He joined GAIL (India) Limited in the year 1986. During his career spanning over three decades with GAIL, Mr. Medhi held various positions in the Gas Processing Units, Petrochemical Complex, Cross country pipeline and Corporate Functions of GAIL. He was associated with GAIL’s Petrochemical, Gas Processing Projects and India’s the then 2nd largest 5.76 MWp Rooftop Solar Project from concept to commissioning.
Prior to posting at GGL, Mr. Medhi was Chief General Manager (Maintenance) – Projects and was heading Plant Maintenance and Project activities in GAIL’s Petrochemical Complex at Pata, Uttar Pradesh. Presently, Mr. Medhi is holding the post of Executive Director at GAIL (India) Limited and got deputed at GGL as the Managing Director.
Mr. A . K . Tiwari, Non-Executive Director
Shri Anjani Kumar Tiwari is Director (Finance) of GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna PSU. He has rich and wide experience of over 38 years of working in various power, Oil & Gas and City Gas Distribution sectors.
Shri Tiwari has 25 year of extensive experience in GAIL across various business segments, in the areas of Project Finance, Corporate Finance, Taxation, Treasury, Accounts, Capital Budgeting,Finalization of EPC Contract,etc
He has also steered prestigious project Jagdishpur – Haldia & Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline, popularly known as Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga.
Shri Tiwari also holds the position of Director in GAIL Gas Ltd., Bhagyanagar Gas Ltd, GAIL Gas (USA) Inc., and GAIL Global (USA) LNG LLC and has ensured effective, sustainable, strategic and result oriented decision making in Board functioning.
Shri Tiwari was assigned the responsibility as Chief Financial Officer in Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL), Assam during its formative years and was actively involved in Investment approval and Project financing of the Project.
He has also contributed in formulation of LNG / RLNG sourcing and sales policy with an objective to build up synergy in the transaction and mitigating the risk as well as hedging of the underlying assets.
Shri Tiwari was involved in finalization of GAIL Strategy 2030 towards diversification and its implementation plan. He played a major role towards various digitization initiatives taken by the Company.
He has given direction towards merger of Konkan LNG to acquire LNG Terminal of 5 MMTPA of strategic importance for GAIL.
He has also been actively involved in Investor Relations and interactions with Analysts fraternity. He is an active member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and The Institute of Directors.
Mr.Sharat Kumar, Director (Commercial)
An electrical engineer from Bhagalpur College of Engineering, Shri Sharat Kumar joined Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Marketing Division in 1997. He later earned his MBA (Executive) from FMS Delhi. He has 23 years of diverse experience in Operations, Retail Sales, Institutional Business, Alternate Energy (Solar Power Plants Installation/Operation, Energy Storage Solutions) and Corporate Planning.
In his prior assignments, he led an integrated multi-modal strategy to enhance the use of green energy at IndianOil through MW/KW-scale Captive Solar Plants at IndianOil locations and Retail Outlets. His innovation sparks from his collaborative approach across the organization to learn and his quest to standardize and institutionalize the work processes. He played an instrumental role in conceiving and leading the execution of the novel projects, such as solarization of world’s highest altitude LPG Bottling Plant operating on diesel, utilization of fuel-station canopy roof for solar installation through a collaborative engineering design innovation. His thorough inputs on current global developments and future prospects in energy sector, especially alternate energy, has assisted in decision making for major investment / diversification decisions. He played an important role in shaping up the alternate energy roadmap for the organization’s draft Vision-2030 document. He also has wide range of Marketing experience – spanning from Operations to Sales to Institutional Business. His strength of building strong inter-personal relationship makes him have a strong network presence across the organization and government authorities.
As the Director (Commercial) of Green Gas Limited, he looks forward to leverage his passion for green energy sources coupled with his pursuit to make business processes efficient and his diverse functional experiences.
Mr.S L Raina,Independent Director
Mr.S L Raina, is a Science & Law graduate and holds Master’s Degree in Business Management. He also possesses qualifications of M.A. (Public Admn.)and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. He retired on attaining the age of superannuation from services of GAIL (India) Limited as Director (Human Resources) on 31st May, 2013 after serving GAIL for more than 28 years in various positions/disciplines and at various locations. As Director (HR), GAIL, optimized and streamlined the functioning of HR Directorate, to fall in sync with Organizational Strategy/Goal. .
He has been on the Board of Directors of GAIL Global (Singapore) Pte Ltd., Shell Compressed Natural Gas (Egypt), Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited, Mahanagar Gas Limited, Brahmaputra Cracker & Polymer Limited and ONGC Petro-additions Limited.
He has over 36 years of experience ranging from Human Resource Management/Development, Training, Legal and Marketing functions, at Senior Management level(s). Prior to joining GAIL, he worked in National Textile Corporation for more than 8 years in Personnel Deptt. Post-retirement from GAIL, he has been functioning as a Consultant in HR & Legal Matters which include Policy Formulation, Imparting Training and Conciliation.
Mrs. Usha Gupta,Independent Director
Mrs. Usha Gupta retired from Indian Revenue Service from the position of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, on 30 June 2009. Post superannuation in 2009, she functioned as Income Tax Ombudsman Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand, to facilitate grievance redressal of the taxpayer community. She has done her M.A. in Psychology from Lucknow University and M. Social Sciences in Development Administration from University of Birmingham, U.K.
She has also been active in the area of women’s rights and social justice. She is married to Shri Atul K Gupta who retired as Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2011 and later served as Chairman, U.P. State Finance Commission. She has spent around 15 years of her life in social service and welfare of women and children. Mrs. Usha Gupta has diverse knowledge of administration, finance, HR, governance and social fields. She has successfully administered several initiatives in public domain and has been striving towards social and economic empowerment in the society.
